My guess is that it is a marine 427 that was cast as a side oiler but not machined as one. Not that is a bad block but you have to find out if it was freshwater/rawwater cooled or if it had a closed loop system. If it was raw water cooled I would stay away from it as it might have rusted out the cooling passages. Scott
