Mike .... I used to live inner the Blue Ridge Mountains and near the trail . If you ever get a chance to hike any portion of it .... do it !! The trail is well marked and there are "camp sites " ( wide areas to camp and some leantos (sp?) about every 10 miles .... first come , first served . It can be a great weekender or longer if you have the time . Be advised ... you will not be near any 7 - 11`s
