Default Correct alternator placement for FE

I currently have the alternator mounted on the passenger side directly in front of the end of the head. The studs for the electrical connections on the alternator clear the head, but only by a 1/4" or less. I am using what I believe to be the original spacer and curved slotted bracket. I also have two belts running the alternator. Is there an issue with the studs "grounding" to the head? I can remove the outer belt and use a single groove pulley which will move the alternator away from the head another 1/2" or so but I will have to add spacers to the top bracket and bottom spacer. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Martin
