Have a look at the cobra racecars and roadcars and let me know how many you can find with sidepipes like the majority of us all have?

Real Cobras don't necessarily have sidepipes at all. A lot have a single pipe running down the side exiting just in front of the rear wheels.

Just my 2c worth..

PS Yes i have fake sidepipes....
The single pipe down the sides that exits under the front guard rather than through the guard is the 289 FIA car. Street cars didn't normally have side pipes but the comp cars certainly did. Back in the day a lot of street 427 Cobra owners fitted the roll bar, hood scoop and side pipes to replicate the look of the 427 S/C cars.

The majority of us are using a replica of the 427 body, there aren't many 289 replicas in Australia (The body is quite different. No oil cooler scoop, different grill opening shape, different flares etc). So if we are mostly using the 427 body then why not make it look like the S/C if you want to.

Cheers
