There has been many threads on this. Some of the throwout bearings are designed to have 7-10 lbs of pressure on the pressure plate at clutch rest. As I have said before, I am from old school and I dont like it but that is what Ford and others say.

To get the cable to adjust far enough to fully engage the clutch and have enough adjustment you need to lenghten the cable sheath. DV told us the easiest way was to lenghten the tube on the front end of the cable sheath (where it attaches to the firewall). It needs to be about 6" long. That will not change the throw. I am still trying to design some sort of pivoting part to be able to do that.

What I have described anout modifing the sheath length will at least let you drive.
