Excaliber is right.... no clue why, but my Goodyears aren't that old, still have plenty of tread on them but are cracked on the sidewall to the point that I was constantly concerned about driving on them safely. I spoke to Roger Kraus about this and he called it "Ozone Cracking". He did however say that it really does not affect the quality or safety of the tire. No reason to doubt him, just thought it time to try the Avons. Certainly glad that I did. As I stated above, the Avons are the best mod I have done to my car yet. They are nothing short of amazing in comparsin to my BFG's and BBoards.

The sizes, BTW, are 295's and 245's. No issue with fit or rubbing on the Contemporary.
