Hi,
I've been about 10 times. It's a great experience and a wonderful atmosphere. However, in recent years it has started to attract a less pleasant crowd that are only intent on getting totally legless and causing trouble.
However, the Le Mans Classic which is held every 2 years is a much more civilised event altogether. The Classic is generally around the middle of July (10th - 11th this year) and runs on the full Le Mans circuit, including the 3½ mile Mulsanne Straight (with 2 chicanes).
I'll be going in the Cobra again and we have managed to get onto the "parade" laps on the Saturday morning, which should be great fun.
You probably need to sample the 24 Hour Le Mans at least once, but once you've done that, the Classic is probably a better bet.
Is anyone from the U.S. side of the pond going to the Classic next month? It would be great to meet up with some of you.

Regards,
Paul
