I am getting ready the trim my truck, hood and doors to get the margins right. I had always thought 3/16" was a good measurement to shoot for. At least that's what I had done in the past for metal cars. Then this last weekend at a car show I saw a production BDR, and the gaps that were easily 1/4". Was I thinking to small? With two coats of thick primer, sealer, 2-3 coats of base, and five coats of clear, maybe I should be going for 1/4". OK experienced builders and painters, tell me what it should be.
