My Recommendation - Get them their own mustang(s) or etc -- and with events , -teach them respect of the Krikham, make them proud its in the family, not sad that Dad wouldn't possibly trust them with it around.
My wifes parents had a Burgundy and black striped 69 Olds 442. -- guess what they sold when she was 15. --guess what drove a wedge that exists 25 years later.
Keep the car, -make sure it is insured, work on a way to keep it locked down if you go away for the weekend, immobilizer. -- but honestly - you should be able to teach them what is cool, and not cool with regards to the car. -- it can be used as a tool for good, and bring you guys closer together as "guys" --
The kirkham cars are sooo nice, they deserve to be an heriloom -- keep it.
