Default WWSCC ACE Photo Hunt

Looks like Karen & I are hanging with the AutoX guys this Saturday. We're going as "Team Peppy Cars" (sigh...).

ACE Photo Hunt

"Be a tourist in your backyard" is the theme of ACE's Photo Hunt scavenger hunt/rally on Saturday August 28th, from 10AM to 7PM.
The event is open to all. Be forewarned, however, that ACE has written it with the local autocross community in mind, so non-autocrossers may be at a slight disadvantage. This should not discourage you from having fun, however!

First and foremost, the goal of “Tourist in Your Own Backyard” is to have fun. It combines elements of a driving tour, a scavenger hunt, a trivia challenge, and plain ol’ tourism. You’ll be on your own for routing choices and lunch, we will not attempt to “trick” you at any time. Hopefully you’ll see some fun stuff along the way and make some great memories with your team.

Teams will consist of 2-4 people, with a team nickname.

Teams must be in possession of the following items:

  • Captain in charge of team communications
  • At least one team member with good working knowledge of Puget Sound locations (recommended)
  • Camera phone, capable of sending pictures as text or email (preferred option) -OR-
    • Digital camera along with any equipment necessary to transfer pictures to a laptop at the end of the day -OR-
    • Film camera that you process photos at your own expense to share at the end of the day
  • Mobile internet access… phone, blackberry, whatever, to research trivia en route (recommended option) -OR-
    • Laptop with ability to connect to public internet access (free wi-fi spots) -OR-
    • Ability to stop at public library internet access -OR-
  • The following reference materials: Seattle phone book; 2010 SCCA rulebook; dictionary; that day’s issue of the Seattle Times; city and county maps. Note that teams relying solely on paper media will be at a disadvantage, some questions may not be answerable.
  • All necessary chargers or batteries for electronic equipment you choose
  • A car capable of driving around the Pacific Northwest
  • A stuffed animal suitable for donation
  • This will be an all-day event
  • At NO time will ACE condone poor behavior.
    • Please obey traffic regulations.
    • Unless specified in the instructions, leave employees of any business you visit alone.
    • Acquire all scavenger hunt items in a fair, safe, and lawful manner.
    • Do not interfere with another team’s ability to complete a challenge by removing, replacing, or altering clues.
  • We will attempt to keep costs down, but some items may need to be p urchased, no guarantees about the ability to find free parking in 100% of the locations.
  • The team is to remain together for the duration of the scavenger hunt, splitting up to “make things go faster” is prohibited.
