Default Mounting a fuel tank

Hi Guys,

I have finished building my stainless fuel tank and im ready to mount it in the car. Is it generally considered necessary to have a flexible mount? I dont want the fuel tank to take any load if there is any slight deflection in the chassis.

The tank just has brackets welded to the sides and end that match up with the chassis rails. I was thinking i would get some rubber washers and put one each side of the bracket. Ie bolt, steel washer, rubber washer, bracket, rubber washer chassis. Is this how others with tanks without straps have done it?

Cheers.
