OK, after looking at
every CSX3000 car on ShelbyCSXinfo, I can answer my own question. There are more forward oriented throttle return springs than rear oriented. Seems like people did it both ways, but I will go with forward and use the same bolt that CSX3287 did, albeit with a proper bracket, not just a bolt.
