Doug, I think Chas. is right. If you're going to drive it at speeds over about 30mph, in temperatures below 50 degrees, I don't think you're going to get your
oil up to temp even with no
oil cooler at all. The
oil pan itself is acting like a big oil cooler. I just don't think it's going to work.
