That's going to be tough. The engine, trans, and rear on most of the non-FE cars around here will add up to over 50% of that figure, and you still don't have a car yet. That will tell you what kind of final product you can end up with. That does not mean that you have to spend it all at once. But what I'm trying to convey to you is that there are some Cobras out there, and "donor kits," that really can not be improved all that much at a reasonable price (even with more than a reasonable price). So you really need to know where you're going before you start out. If you start out on the wrong foot, the remedy will end up being "sell your car, and start over" and you don't want to do that.
