I too have an "older" ERA and thats the way I do mine on the trailer. Towed it all the way to SAAC-35 and back, from Oregon, piece of cake.
By the way, ERA's are like a fine wine, they age very nicely. My car rocks and was a thing of beauty on the track. It's performance was flawless, it sticks like glue in the corners and I showed it no mercy!
