I like the turbo diesel
oil visosity range. I just had a tough time digesting diesel
oil and it additives in a gasoline engine. I am about to do a write up of all my
oil visosity / pressure findings. I have tried 10w30, 15w50 and 10w40.
I stumbled across a valuable piece of information when it comes to filters. ALWAYS USE A MOTORCRAFT FILTER!!!!!!. The majority of filters have their bypass valve in the bottom "dome". This is a pathetic design, if the filter bypasses, which it does on startup due to the high viscosity it washes the dirty side of the filter element back into the engine. The Motorcraft has its bypass built in at the top by the threads. When it bypasses it bypasses the filter media straight to the engine not flushing the dirty side of the filter. If you use Fram just put an empty filter housing and run no filter medai, it is almost criminal how pathetic their filters are!!!!
