Some additional info here, no defense of the indefensible intended.
A couple of months ago I was talking to Russ Meeks at Finish Line Coatings in Portland, Or.
I was trying to decide whether or not to have the exhaust system for my 32 Ford done in silver or black. I had heard black ceramic did not hold up well. Russ allowed as how they had had quite a bit of problems with it and had tried several formulations to get one they could stand behind. They quit doing black for some time, but finally (they think) have a solution. Their work is top notch and they are concerned about quality, so I suspect they have a high confidence level in the new product.
I ended up going with the silver mainly because I already had HPC coated manifolds in silver.
