Sorry, but that is NOT correct!
ALL SPFs do NOT tranship via Hong Kong. It may be that the container bound for the West Coast with your car did go that way, but others do not.
I have a container due today that was direct Port Elizabeth to Newark, NJ. The shipping companies are "conspiring" to raise rates, they have cut back on container availability, slowed the ships to save fuel and reduced the number of sailing dates. This has increased the transit time by days to possibly add a week or so. The time from the container being "stuffed" to my door is less than 30 days.
I am sure you are waiting on your car and the waiting time is unbearable, but a blanket statement that "all cars go to Hong Kong" does not reflect the real situation and serves no one.
I hope you are "burnin' gas and crushin' bugs" with your car soon!!!!!
