I agree. You can't really compare an early Porsche (1965-1973) to a 2009 997 Porsche 911 (the 997 started in 2005 and is still in production).
You will find the service experience rather expensive of these cars. I know this.

They made two different RSR's: The 1973 911 RSR 2.8L and the 1973-1974 RSR 3.0L.
The 1996-1997 993 TT is different. The 1997 Turbo S is much more valuable. You can't really compare a 1965 Cobra to a car that is 30+ years older.
Good luck on your RSR. The 1996 3.6L has hydraulic lifters which will not need re-adjustment every 5000-7000 miles.
I also have a 1973 Porsche (with a stroked 1973 "S" engine and PMO carbs).
