As it's been said, these cars are only slightly safer than a motorcycle. And in some ways they may be even more dangerous as they can provide a false sense of safety.

I'm going to throw out one other comment in regard to something that has been discussed here a number of times. And I have no idea if they were a factor or not.

Tires. The tires on his car provide minimal traction in comparison to some other options that are available. Those four rubber patches are all that's keeping the car in contact with the road, and the car going straight.

It just amazes me that some will spend $15,000.00 or more on a motor, but then look for the cheapest tires they can find because they don't want to spend the bucks on Avons or similiar tires.

And in closing, thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny's family. Such a shame at this time of year.
