I'm not familiar with that area except to say, if it's raining on Maui, that's where it will be. I stay in the S. Kihei/Wailea area (the desert portion of the island). I stay at the Royal Mauian as I like to be right on the water.

On Kauai, stay in the Poipu area (the desert portion). A must see on Kauai is the Waimea Canyon and the Princeville/Hanalei area.
