I work with acrylic in my business.....Plexiglass is a brand name of acrylic. Lexan is a brand name for polycarbonate. Although acrylic is more likely to chip, it is a bit more scratch resistant, has far superior clarity, will not yellow over time, and can be polished to it's original clarity if it is scratched. Polycarbonate is stronger and less likely to chip, but it less scratch resistant, more expensive, and will eventually yellow from the sun's UV rays. I made a pattern for the wind wings for my car and when I track down the hardware I will be making them from acrylic. Acrylic gets my vote, FWIW.......
