I have a four post and I have moved it once or twice in three years. I would see no need to cut out the floor for the post. My floor is finished with U-Coat-It and since my floor has a major tapper to it for a floor drain the lift will scratch the floor in a few places when moving it. I'm only telling you that so you know if you move your lift you could scratch your tiles.

BTW When we built the house we had the garage built with 11' ceiling as I knew I would be adding a lift. IF the Cobra is on top I have lots of room under it to work.
