Yes. ZDDP is the acronym for the
zinc/phosphorous combination that is really what we're all talking about. It is absolutely wonderful stuff, but it is toxic to catalytic converters. If we didn't have catalytic converters to worry about you'd still have a healthy dose of ZDDP in your
oil as it acts as a "sacrificial layer" between metals when they come in contact with one another (and when there is insufficient lubrication there).
