The tank setup may be a bit similar to mine in respect of the filler pipe being towards the centre and not at the front highest point. That's if your tank is on some sort of slope.
Anticipating a similar problem I will also be adding a small fitting at the highest (front) point of the tank and back up to the filler pipe. This will act as an air bleed/ balance tube. If you think this is the case it may be as simple as drill/ tap and fit a 1/8th BSP x 1/4" hose fitting and run a hose back up.

Please let us know what you do that fixes this problem.
