This is a great event first of all because of the sheer numbe of cars --they say 2000 entries expected. And secondly because it's free to spectators. Check the application to see if there's a fee for showing your car. Anyway, there's usually about 100 Shelby Mustangs, a few dozen Boss 'Stangs and Bullitts, many many more Mustangs from 64 1/2 to brand new, about ten genuine Cobras (depending if there is no schedule conflict--the real ones usually come en masse led by Lynn Park) and two to three times as many Cobra replicas, not mention '05-06 Ford GTs, Panteras, Mangustas, Tigers--I even wander over and look for a fast Maverick or other sleeper. And the hot rodded four wheel drives are always fun. Ford sometimes shows a prototype car here--a few years ago they showed the '07 Shelby Mustang prior to its intro. It's in a big parking lot bordered by Beach Blvd. and spectators can get in about 7:30 a.m. There's rather loud music playing (am I showing my age?) throughout. Sometimes famous personalities in the Ford world--this year it will be Parnelli Jones.I have seen Shelby cruising the event in his golf cart. You'll see me in my black 10-gallon hat, Levis and cowboy boots carryin' round artwork.
