I register cobras all the time, you need to bring the value stated of the car to dmv, that way it can be applied to the title, also if you want to register it as a 1965 it will need to be inspected, it is a painless process, then you will give them all your paper work for the car, ask if they will put ford or cobra on title, probably wont let you but it will say speco 1965, which means its a special project car and you will be granted the historical plate. So make sure the dmv you go to has an inspection station, bring your paperwork, they will even let you apply the vin sticker to the car. GOOD LUCK.
