Not familiar with the FAST system but mine uses a SPOUT connector on the distributor that the system uses to control timing. To set the initial timing on the engine the SPOUT is disconnected and the timing is set (in my case 14 deg.) Once the SPOUT is plugged back in it's all up to the ECU and program for timing from there on out.
