Apologies if there was any perception of insensitivity Mike. None of it was intentional - we simply had no way of knowing about your situation.

I've seen some homemade heatshields using large hose/pipe clamps, insulating material and sheet steel that looked real neat and tidy. Paint them flat black to match the pipes and it should look and work pretty good.

You have a beautiful car from a great manufacturer. I hope you really enjoy it and that all goes well with the little fella.
