Any quick ideas on why my dad's car is cutting out around 5K? He has anluminum genesis crate engine (468 or 482), demon carb, holley elec pump (only a single fuel filter upstream of pump) MSD6AL box. Only has 1000 miles, but I believe has always done this. Car run great until then, then its cutting out or starving it seems (I probably couldn't tell the difference) He's replacing the filter tomorrow. I wired in the MSD. Can you mess that up to where it cuts out only at high rpm? I think he has really good wires with looms to seperate all of them along the head. I haven't changed the chip to see if that affects anything (has 6K chip now). Hell, maybe he has a crimp in the fuel line? I know he messed with the quite a bit replacing fuel pumps.
Anything else easy to check?
