In fact in 1969 the only Torino that Ford made was the GT. The 69 Cobras were based on the 68 Fairlane body style and reworked and they were know just as Fairlane Cobras or Ford just advertised them as Cobras. My order sheet just says Fairlane Cobra on it.

The
Gran (no D) Torino was introduced as a 1972 model replacing the Fairlane in North America. It came in three trim levels including the "GT" with the 351 Cleveland 4V as an option. Prior to that, the "Torino" was a trim level on the Fairlane series.
