I cut my ERA pipes apart and inserted Stainless Specialties centers. I got tired of the crackle in my ear from the stock glasspack mufflers and wanted something less restrictive but also needed a change of tone. A buddy just did the same thing on his FFR copying my setup. I can't explain it, but I will tell you this... about fifty or more people have commented on how the car sounds and I'm able to save my ears. It gets louder when you mash it but the tone is much better. Its all in the design. Good luck.
