I typically use the packed ones. If the customers want them loud and more performance oriented I face the louvers inside the muffler towards the back. If they are facing the front they scoop more exhaust into the baffles and it gives it a nice tone I think. If loud is what you're really after go without packing and rear facing louvers. I wouldn't recommend it though, remember the tailpipe is right below your ear. The other trick is just a slight downturn on the tailpipes. Too much downward angle and the noise is bouncing right back up at ya. Check out a few sound byte examples on the site.
