Yes they work...easy answer. No you don't need all the extra stuff they sell. All the lock is, is a solenoid. Put it in the front wheel line, some people do one wheel or two wheel lock. I didn't mine to lock both wheels. Then you will need a button to activate. Run an electric line from fuse block to line lock and then through the button. Press down on brakes, then press the button. The solenoid closes, take foot off brake. Front brakes still have pressure on them as long as you hold the button. You can get a solenoid for 30-40 dollars, another 25 dollars for parts and you're done.
