I did mine because I changed alot from the origial plan. It seemed as if I was more scared of the unknown than how difficult it was. Started with one big piece of carpet and made patterns for the pieces. I sewed the external seams (borrowed a larger sewing machine from my wifes friend) and glued the but seams on internal seams. Used a strip of aluminum that I polished for overlap seams. Remember that what ever the base is like the carpet can be like, some imperfections will show through the carpet. Took probably 10 hours of futtsing and retrys and had about 100.00 into it.
