I have to go back to an original question, Who's car manufacture and what you are looking to do with the car?? I think Ponds or Genises has a stamp date cast into their block. You have not said if this is going to be a stroker motor, which alot of guys are doing. Make more power, run the motor with hydro roller lifters, still turn a safe 6,000 rpms, run on pump gas with maybe an additive. Be in the 550/550 club without and problems. Answers to these question will answer weather to buy this block or not. I would still not buy it without a sonic check either way. In my life, $4,000.00 dollars is alot of late nights working for 2 years. Home bills and other half come first. This was a dream and now a hobby for me. Rick L.
