It is called 'racechrono' mine has an external GPS antenna that can go just about anywhere on the car. They are made for bikes so are light and rain proof.

Yep, Racechrono is the way to go. Was within .05 of 1 second of my AIM timer at the Nationals. John White and Wayne Proctor also have the same unit. So much more data is available. You can also download to .avi to overlay on incar video. Check their website
