We now have available the
oil cooler and
oil filter adapter plate / bolt that is the correct size for the competition 289 Cobra applications (FIA, USRRC, DAYTONA, LEMANS, DRAGON SNAKE, etc.). These
oil coolers were reproduced using an original 289 competition Cobra "Serk" oil cooler to get the correct dimensions and fabrication processes (component shapes) used when manufacturing our oil coolers. This oil cooler is 100 % welded together aluminum assembly done by an aircraft oil cooler manufacturer (tested to 300 PSI) versus the originals soldered together,later brass, steel and copper assembly that eventually cracks at a solder joint. The block adapter and bolt are reproduced per the original late competition 289 Cobra parts dimensions (SAE threads versus BSF) and materials.
