Yes and particularly in California in the woods around Big Bear and Palm Springs and along the beach near Santa Monica, the trees there have been know to emit a sound that is similar to yoo hoo, when people walk past them.
In addition it is a well know fact that trees talk to each other in specific dialect depending what tree species they are from. If you get a chance listen to the California Redwoods on a damp and windy morning during winter or convesly the trees on the northern rim of the Grand Canyon. it is an uplifting experience. It does help however if you are a registered tree hugger, a forester, or a save the Rain Forest advocate.
