Kevin, I don't have SS pipes, but I've been in a couple of SS FE Cobras and I wouldn't call the sound tinny, either at idle, off-idle, or under acceleration. You can hear a 447CID FE with ceramic coated pipes by clicking my sig below. BTW, I would rather drop three engines in to a Cobra just to avoid fitting one soft top.
