I bought a similar frame (Altec), only manual control; no powered remote.
Altec Retractable License Plate Holder - 400U

My oil cooler is not needed, hence it is not plumbed. I have not yet mounted the Altec plate frame, but have test fit it and know it to be a workable solution. My plan is to use permanent hook & loop strips to attach the plate frame to the underside of the fiberglass, directly under the center of the oil cooler opening. When pulled out it will lie flat against the oil cooler opening and when retracted only a small portion of the bracket frame is visible if you are looking for it.

I also have the Finish Line front plate bracket, which is a nice, quality piece, but just cannot bring myself to install it.

Granted, the preference is to not have a front plate at all, but state troopers have a tendency to issue tickets of the non-warning variety around here, so non-compliance only goes so far.
