Hey there 1 F Geof,
Most production cars are assembled on the line this way, and in the Valiant factory it was called "the body drop" as the cars where lowered onto the front end, most factories lift the front end up from below.
It is a much easier way in production cars than dropping in from above then lifting the box into place.
Also less chance of scratching firewall.
And Valiant does not have a "sandwich plate"
