PSB,
Permatex Aviation Sealant "Form a Gasket". That stuff works. Just apply it on your connecting surfaces (metal, cork, any combo). Never used it on rubber actually but I have on cork and aluminum and it sealed perfectly. It was also submerged in gas and was not a problem.
