That is pretty much it Steve. I have a lift-a-dot (double height post at the top for the tonneau also) and another at the bottom on the inside end of the chassis rail. The spat clips on those and folds under on to a wide (not the narrow stuff) velcro strip (which is glued on as Craig describes). The edge of the spat is sewn where it folds over the edge of the wheel arch, to reduce the pressure on the velcro. We experimented with a sprung steel strip to clip in the spat, inside the wheel arch, but it didn't work out. The leading edge of the spat has stretch elastic sewn in to keep it in place. I have taken them off many times to test them out and all is good.
