Default Bdr

Hi, yep thanks Cashy... I'll try and answer your questions as best I can.

Has anyone had anything to do with the cars that Backdraft racing sell?
- I've been involved with BDR since about 2008 I think. I have one of the TD track cars. It's not a streeter. Ole smokey 351w and a 4 speed. But the basic makeup of the track only v's street cars are generally the same. BMW suspension, your choice of GB and engine etc etc. They are very nicely made and are slightly "larger" in size than some of the Aussie Cobras. EG 92 inch wheel base.

Have there been any brought into Australia.
- There are a "few". I've seen an old street car the Warwick Harrison was working on for a client back on 2010 and there are 2 (?) turn key minus engine/box cars for sale regularly in "Just Cars" I think, which I believe is the BDR agent in Oz. Some reseach suggests they are based in Cairns and other suggests Perth but I really have no idea where they actually are located.
I dealt directly with BDR HQ in Florida.

My understanding is that there has been some delays in getting the cars compliant to meet ICV rules in Oz but that is only my understanding. It may be a dfferent story. If you want to know exactly the situation with the BDR Agency in Australia email REG in the USA at reg@backdraftracing.com
and he can give you the low down. He doesn't generally post much on CC.

As it is a complete car with no running gear can it still be registered as an individually built vehicle?
- I'm probably not the man to answer this question but my understanding is that you will need to have the car pass all the usual engineering. Whether the agent in Oz has managed to get all this done as yet I don't know.

The main difference is Backdraft offer a turn key minus (engine/box)package. A bit like Superformance. I don't believe you can by them as a "kit" and build it yourself. Again, best to ring or email Reg.

Also, if you want to know more specific stuff I'd also suggest PM/emailing Cashburn above. He knows pretty much everything about BDR and is passionate about the brand.

If you want to know any more Pm me and I'll be happy to help where I can.

For the purpose for which my car was intended I think it fits my requirements perfectly. I just need to stop breaking it and keep it off concrete walls so as I can have some more enjoyable seat time!

regards
