We use the blocks often. Other than the block itself the rest of the engine is pretty
much Ford truck type parts.

Most often they seem to be cast as side oilers but machined as center oilers. Brass freeze plugs.

They need to be carefully inspected for freeze cracking - a very common problem with marine engines in this area. Without inspection a value is hard to establish, but a thousand for a good 427 block would be too low, and $2500 would be too high.
