Like Tim said,the panhard bar is a required piece of a parallel 4-link suspension.
The axle has to be located laterally and the 4- links cannot do that except for a very minor degree.Without the bar there is no direct lateral restraint for the axle. A lateral force would put stress on the links themselves, and the joints at each end.
This movement will bind the suspension and will lead to failure of a link and/or the bushing/rod ends.

Bottom line....put it back on and enjoy better safer handling.
