soooooo----why not take a look to see what happened?????? dist /cam gear, then
oil pan, check bearings,
oil pump etc----if you can identify the damage?cause, there is no reason to pull the whole engine----trust the
oil filter to having done its job, clean up oil system up to the filter, reassemble and go run it---Next winter take it apart for overhaul.
