Not perfect nor always right - but no human being ever is. Bigger than life on more than one level and beating the odds was simply what he did. Love him or not, but we knew him, talked about him and thought about him as he impacted our lives and the lives of auto enthusiasts from every corner of the earth spanning two generations.

He was aleady a legend while he walked among us, doing the things - for better or for worse - that most men and boys talk or dream about.

His life had to end sooner or later, but it ended much later than it would have if he was made of ordinary stuff. He wasn't made of ordinary stuff and I already miss Carroll Shelby being alive.

RIP Ol' Shel - you deserve a good rest.
