Depends on track affiliation and what night of the week you go, as to safety requirements. I race at Norwalk and on Wed nights they are more lenient to the rules. If you go on Fri test and tune, they stick to the NHRA rules, because Sat is their NHRA program and most show up on Fri to prepare for Sat racing. There's no way I could run low 9's following NHRA rules, but on Wed they just want the roll bar, helmet, arm restraints, fire jacket and long pants.
